A DUO beam is made of two glued spruce lamellas, a TRIO of three — kiln-dried timber, finger-jointed, planed and profiled on four sides. The result: a dimensionally stable beam, without the pith at the centre (so no large cracks), graded C24 under EN 14080. It is used for purlins, posts, ridge beams and main beams in houses and industrial halls.

When to choose DUO/TRIO instead of KVH
- large spans (purlins over 5 m, main beams of industrial halls);
- sections from 120×120 upwards, where solid timber would crack on drying;
- when you want exposed timber, with planed faces, in lofts or pergolas.
